To make soap, you need a good formula, technique and knowledge about its ingredients. Lets check out some soap making ingredients. Remember that you should always be careful about the quantity of the ingredients you are using. Accurate measurement of the ingredients is very important, if you want to make a good quality soap.

The following list shows some of the soap making ingredients:

Soap 1

  • 1.5 oz wt Sweet Almond Oil
  • 1.5 oz wt Apricot Kernel Oil
  • 2.5 oz wt Coconut Oil
  • 1.5 oz wt Olive Oil
  • 2.5 oz wt Palm Kernel Oil
  • 0.5 oz wt Lanolin
  • 1.35 oz wt Sodium Hydroxide
  • 4 oz Distilled Water

Soap 2

  • 2 oz wt Coconut Oil
  • 1 oz wt Grape Seed Oil
  • 1 oz wt Olive Oil
  • 2 oz wt Palm Oil
  • 3 oz wt Hydrogenated Soybean Oil
  • 1 oz wt Cocoa Butter
  • 1.10 oz wt Sodium Hydroxide
  • 3oz Distilled Water

Using the above mentioned soap making ingredients, follow these basic soap making instructions.

  • Put on your safety glasses & gloves.
  • Now, mix sodium hydroxide & your liquid stir properly.
  • After the lye is prepared, keep it aside and let it cool down at about 100 - 125 degrees.
  • Mix your oils & heat them.
  • The mixture of the oils should be heated at about 100 - 125 degrees.
  • This is the time to add color to your soap if your want to.
  • When both your lye & mixture of oils are boiling at the same temperature (100 - 125 degrees), mix them together.
  • Be careful while mixing them as the mixture might splash up.
  • Keep stirring the mixture until it traces out.
  • If you want to add any fragrance to your soap, add it now and then spill the mixture in a soap making mold.
